What is "advanced colour API"?

Post by PistolSlap » Mon Nov 05, 2018 12:36 am

I see this option, and when I click it, it makes the amber effect much more intense, and it makes it so that 6500K (highest) with the advanced api looks like 1000K (lowest) without the option selected. The tooltip says "Useful for DisplayLink USB monitor adapter" which doesn't make it any clearer. What is the purpose of this function?

The DisplayLink USB Display Adapter cannot use the gamma API (low-level API) to adjust the color temperature. It can only use the advanced API to adjust the colour temperature. When you force the advanced API to be enabled, your screen will look warmer. We do not recommend enabling this option Unless you are using DisplayLink USB.
